Dad's Hot German Potato Salad

This is one of those recipes that had no measurements and was handed down. Over time I have added amounts but some of the ingredients you will still have to add to suit your own taste.
To make the sauce, mix and cook the following ingredients, stirring until it starts to thicken.
1 c water
1 c sugar
a little over 1 c red wne vinegar with garlic
2 raw eggs
MSG to taste
Add 1 Tbsp mustard
1 Tbsp mayonnaise
a dab of horseradish
Mix well.
Add cooked , cubed, potatoes
celery seed
onions
hard boiled eggs
